2018 Fall Swing 4 Sofia Tournament


Tournament Details

Sofia Sanchez, a 9U DG Rebels Player in 2018 was diagnosed with a rare heart condition which has resulted in her needing a heart transplant.  We are running this tournament as a fundraiser with all proceeds going to aid the family with medical bills

Tournament Rules

  • All Teams Must check in a minimum of 60 minutes before their first game with ASA Roster and Proof of Insurance
  • Please have Birth Certificate available at all times during the tournament.
  • McCullom Park is the Tournament Headquarters and the winning team is responsible for turning in scores
  • If playing off site scores may be sent via text to   TBD

  • Rain out Hotline (only in the event of inclement weather) number TBD
  • Bracket Tie Breakers: Record / Head to Head /Runs Allowed / Run Differential / Coin Flip
  • Teams Must be ready and able to play  30 min before the scheduled time if the field is available

Game Rules

Pool Play
  • ASA Rules apply
  • Mound Bacci (closest to the pitching rubber) will determine home team in Pool play
  • Continuous batting order and free substitution must be used
  • A courtesy runner may be used for the catcher and pitcher.  The runner must be the last player in the game to have made and out. (unless the last out is the pitcher or catcher) If no outs have been made in the inning then the last out from the previous inning will be used.
  • Pool Play: No new inning will start after 1 hour and 15 minutes.  Drop dead at 1 hour and 20 minutes.  Games can end in a tie.
  • BRACKET ONLY: No new inning will start after 1 hour and 15 minutes.  Drop dead at 1 hour and 20 minutes.  If the Home team is batting and  either tied or ahead at DropDead time they shall be declared the winner.  Or International tie breaker goes into effect.
  • Mercy Rule: are 15 runs after 3 innings, 12 after 4 innings and 10 after 5 innings.
  • NO PROTESTS  - the ruling of the umpire is final
Bracket Play
  • Game time is Forfeit time (Teams must be ready to play 30 minutes prir to the schedule to ensure time stay on track.)
  • In good Sportsmanship we ask there be NO cheering against opponents
  • Offensive behavior by coaches, players or spectators could lead to their ejections.  If this happens the responsible party or parties will be required to leave the fields of play as well as the Park District property.  Tournament directors will review the case and determine if the offender(s) will be allowed back on the Park District property for the remainder of the tournament.  Your team may forfeit games due to bad behavior.  Please act responsibly at all times and inform the spectators of the potential for ejection and forfeiture for offensive behavior.  Any spectator who enters the field of play will cause an immediate forfeiture of the game and tournament for their team.
  • If there is a dispute over dugouts, a coin toss shall decide.  Any team playing back to back games has priority.  Home team (higher seed) in Bracket play will occupy the 3rd base dugout.
  • Only managers may consult with umpires.  Managers shall declare themselves prior to the start of the game to the umpire.
