The Rebels 12U took 1st place in their season ending tournament.  The team finished 16-0 in regular season play, and also went undefeated in the tournament, winning 5 straight.  The Championship game, against the Bolingbrook Panthers, was quite a nail biter, with the Rebels winning in the bottom of the 7th inning.   The Rebels found themselves down by a few runs after the fourth inning, but came back with a solid inning to pull ahead by two runs.  The Bolingbrook Panthers strung together a number of hits in the top of the 7th and added 5 runs to their total, pulling ahead and leaving the Rebels with one last chance to pull off the win.  The Rebels managed to score a couple of runs, but found themselves with two outs and runners on first and second.  The Rebels bats came through, however, bringing a couple of hits to drive in the winning run.  The final score was 11-10.  Coach Brandon Yackle commented, "It was a hard fought battle by both teams, the best game of our season, and everything you could ask for in a Championship game.  The Panthers battled from the first pitch to the last and should be proud of themselves.  The determining factor for us was our girls resilience and team work.  They simply never gave up and it paid off for them."
